  • About

At our community allotment, PIER, we run green Social Prescribing activities for homeless and vulnerable people.

Many things that affect our mental health can’t be treated with just medicine. We need fresh air and opportunities to connect with others, reduce stress, try new things, and build confidence.

Social Prescribing connects people to activities, groups, and services in their community to meet the practical, social and emotional needs that affect their health and wellbeing.

RHS Tatton Park Flower Show 2024

Every year since 2019, we have produced a show garden for RHS Tatton Park Flower Show to showcase the work of our incredible community allotment, PIER.

It is an opportunity for us to challenge stereotypes held about people who have experienced homelessness, isolation, mental health issues and other complex social needs.

Our service users are at the heart of this, contributing to the design, fundraising, and build of the show garden.

This creates a powerful sense of belonging and creates a platform for them to show what they can achieve when they are empowered, trusted and believed in.

This years’ garden, The Kaleidoscope Ginnel,’ has been created with the support of service users, volunteers and staff from Petrus, Falinge Park High School and charity, Aspire to Inspire.

Visitors can expect to be inspired by sunlight dancing through textured glass, a rainbow of plants, an abundance of garden art, and chatty benches to forge new friendships. Each community group will have their own section of the ginnel reflecting their community and experiences of friendship.

We rely on grant funding and donations from people like you to deliver this service. Thank you for your support. 💙
